Geocache Description:

Follow Bilbo Baggins the world famous Hobbit burglar on a quest to recapture the lost gold of the Dwarves. Your journey through the shire of Del Mar will involve three distinct sites all within less than half a mile of each other.

The secret coordinates above were provided by Gandolf the Wizard. They will lead you to the first stop on your expedition which is Hobbit Hole #1. Rumors have that Gollum himself actually once lived in this dank and fragrant hole. True or not, he did leave a clue to the fabled Troll Cave.

At the entrance to the cave, you must first figure out a method to clandestinely enter this mountain retreat.

Next, deep within the bowels of the cavern you need to discover the hidden clue to the final resting place of magnificent lost treasure chest of the Dwarf King. Discovering a way out of this dark clammy grotto may present you with yet another challenge.

Be ever watchful for Smaug the evil dragon who is known for finding and killing careless adventures.

We have in fact had to rename the second waypoint "Parsa - Samiaminca" in order to honor those who have fallen....

VERY IMPORTANT: - At the second waypoint, approach the hole from the LEFT side. (As you face the hole - looking East) The Right side will result in disaster.

Gandolph suggests to avoid detection from Smaug you should start your journey from the famous Elvin locality of Rivendale: N 32 57.760 W 117 16.030. If you find yourself crossing “over” the rail road tracks rethink your route. There is a sneakier, more direct route to Hobbit Hole #1.

Once you are on top of the site for the final hidden treasure, utilize the utmost of stealth and discretion. Depending on the time of day, this area can have a fair amount of Trolls and Goblins wandering about. Discrete timing is essential, and use of the Ring could be warranted. Best of luck to thee brave adventurer!
