Summary: The Basic Idea:
A "Flash Mob" Gathering of Geocachers. Only 15 minutes long! You
MUST be present and sign your log sheet DURING this time to claim
the event.
Please BYOL. That means Bring Your Own Log - please make it a
3x5 note card or something similar. One card per geocaching name.
please include the total number of people included for each cacher
name.
The World Wide Flash Mob Event: Over 100 events all around the
world, coordinated to happen at the same time (or at least pretty
close) to bring together geocachers and introduce others (newbies)
to the geocaching.
The event will last EXACTLY 15 minutes, not one second
longer.
The event will begin precisely at 11:00 am Lethbridge Time on
May 2, 2009. The event will be held near Nikka Yuko Japanese
Garden. This is in an open public space. The event will be rather
informal.
The Plan
10:45 to 10:59 Mill about, but do not hover around the area.
11:00 mrcanoehead224 will open an Ammo Can to start the event.
Appear at Ground Zero. Hand-in your log and mingle with others.
11:11 Group Photo
11:15 mrcanoehead224 will close the Ammo Can and the event is
over! The event area will be vacated without a trace!!!
Events that happen after 11:15:01 do not count as part of THIS
event.
Only those participants whose names appear on the log sheets may
log the event.
Tell your friends and help promote the event!
Note: Although participants are welcome to get together after
the event, the event will officially be over at 11:15. Afterwards,
at any other meeting, participants may chat, meet, eat and plan for
a day of caching!!!
I'm sure there will be several muggles nearby who will wonder
"What did I just see? What just happened?" (That's part of the
fun!)
