Geocache Description:

Hit the Bricks
This area is a small park on the shore in the Fairwinds development near Nanoose Bay. There is another cache very close by that you can look for while in the area. At some time in the past there was a brick factory at this site. The buildings are gone now but there are a couple of very interesting old trees along the pathway that have a large root system above the ground. These roots grew around old bricks and they are now part of the roots that are visable. It is an interesting thing to see in near a new residential area.

Here is the information that you will need to find this cache:

Go past the pond with the swans, look for the signs that refer to brickyard to get in the right area.

The trail starts with a green post and passes three pylons. Look for a fancy fence to locate the first waypoint.

You need to find a tree with bricks grown into the roots. Take a compass bearing of 252 degrees and start walking towards the broken off tree. Cross over the big rocks and find a small crevasse. The cache is in a blue Rubbermaid box inside a green plastic bag.

When placed the cache contained:

Log book, Squeezy alien, Knife, Gel Pens, Retractable key ring, Small metal box, Mini Flashlight, White out pen, Roll-up Lunch bag without a lunch.
