How Geocaching Works
Cache is hidden at Overman Park in lovely Cedar Falls. Bring your own pen.
This can be a very busy place at certain times so stealth is required to avoid muggles.
------
BENCHMARK BONUS: Benchmark NK0019 is also located in this little park.
The UPDATED coordinates for that are:
N 42 32.176 W 092 26.930
These coordinates are slightly different than the ones on the benchmark's data page. I can only assume it was moved at some point in time.
This is the earliest documented park in Cedar Falls, acquired in 1853. The property was donated to the city by John Overman and was originally called "Courthouse Square."
The ornate bandshell reinforces the park's function and is a focal point in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Cedar Falls. Many local events are centered around this park including the annual Sturgis Falls Celebration, Farmer's Market, band concerts, and family picnics.
Because of the high level of activity here, please seek this cache when the park is not in use for an event.
