Think of this cache as a virtual cache with a bonus container. If you must trade items, please feel free, but otherwise be content to sign the log book, write an interesting entry, and enjoy a view of five mountains!
Park at the trailhead to Mirror Lake along Highway 26. It's a 1.6 mile hike with several switchbacks. After enjoying the beauty of Mirror Lake, take the marked trail to the East. As you depart, be sure to take a rock to place upon the cairn at the switchback. I met the man who engineered this trail. The rock pile, which was ten feet tall last year stool only about four feet when the trail was built. The rest of the rocks were all placed by hikers! The second part of the hike is another couple miles, but worth every step. Try to find the cheering elephant tree.
The cache is close to the trail, but hidden in true geocache style, so the find should be logical for a seasoned searcher.
