BLACKWATER BOB (Box of Books) Traditional Cache
DeweyDoubleD: Well this morning the Knockheads and I went to check on this one, we found the X and there was no cache to be found and if you had been here you would know this one was hard to miss. We even dragged in another big box with us but after seeing the logging that was going in close proximity I decided not to risk losing another one so I guess it is time to archive this one although I dont really want to but oh well.

A very large ammo can located just off easy walking trails. Ammo can is camoflauged just enough to hide from those eyes that are not looking for a cache.

Completed maintenance check on this cache today. Replaced the log book and left some signature items, a TB, and a camera for visitors to snap their picture with at the cache. There is a photo log in the log book. I have to come up with a new camoflauge idea for this one as it is right out in the open again. My bark camo keeps disappearing!!
This is the third cache hidden by Deweydoubled. I was assisted by the Knockhead brothers, my 4 and 6 year olds. C, the older one wanted to make it easy. Seeing how this is a tribute, well sort of, to Flask, the most devious and tricky cache hider that I know and also the person that hid the first cache, BOB,that the knockheads and I found along with Momma D, we made it as easy as BOB wasto find. As this first one led to over 45 others so far we wanted to thank her for getting us involved in
this great family activity.
The cache is hidden on a series of trails off of the Warner Road in Salisbury, NH. This area is owned by the Federal government and is used for overflow for the Blackwater flood control dam. I have never seen the overflow used and we have hidden the cache on higher ground. The cache is lightly camoflauged and should be easily found by anyone with a basic geosense. The ammo can is much larger than the normal size.
The theme for this cache is book trading. The first cache we found as a family was a book trading one so we decided to make one in New Hampshire as well. There are adult books and childrens books. Travel bugs are also welcome here and the Sleigh Ride Travel Bug is the first one and is located here. If you really feel like you want to leave something else such as a signature item that is fine but remember the theme is what makes this one interesting.
Initial contents include fiction books by some of Momma D and my favorite authors: Clancy, Patricia Cornwell, Orson Scott Card and many others. There are several good childrens book as well. There are two non-fiction books, the first Hoyles rules of card games comes from Flask's BOB, it was my first cache trade and I have included it here for someone else to get on their first find. The second is another non-fiction that Momma D has told me will have no more use of (and after hiding this one with the Knockheads I tend to agree). If you are expecting parents this may come in handy.
All books are contained in zip-loc bags and there are a few extra bags included in the box but please bring your own to make sure that your book will fit in. As I stated before the box is quite large so basically any size book will fit.
Have fun and good luck. Please take the time to read to your children and grandchildren.
