User 'Huga' quoted after searching for this cache in October '02: "Came down from Cambridge for a cache-hunt day with srh28(Sam). Found the site easily, but could not find the cache after more than half an hour of searching. Judging from the amount of rubbish (cans, cigarette packets, all sorts of broken stuff) it doesn't look a cache-friendly location :-( Also, the large tree that was the original hiding place for the cache has been burnt out, suggesting some nefarious activity in the area. Maybe Dan or Pid could check it out and report on the cache's current status? We'd love to know if we were being dim :)"
 | This was the scene at the cache site after a visit today. The whole area had been destroyed, mainly through burning of trees and litter dropping. Amazingly whoever had vandalised the site managed to remove huge amounts of scrap wood which i was certain would hide the cache before hand. To see this image at full size click the picture. I have removed the cache from the origonal location and moved it about 200 metres away. New coords are posted and the clue has been altered. If you are planning a revisit please check these before coming. If you are visiting for the first time please be assured that the cache is now in a totally tranquille location. Thanks to Huga & SRH28 for letting me know. |

The 2nd & 3rd images below show the origonal location of the cache which was destroyed due to vandalism. The final one may well give you some good pointers as if you are in the right area you can't miss it. The location of the cache is now 200 meters away in a less likely spot for plundering. Dog walkers come here everyday so please be carefull not to expose the location too much & please recover the cache as you found it.

 | Updated 2nd January '03, 2.29am:- Returned to the cache site with Pid in search of a better and more interesting hiding place. We removed the cache and replanted within easy walking distance. The cache can now be found close to a popular kids play spot (I once vistited quite a lot myself!) Please check the new clue for further details. The picture on the right is the exact location, take the photo with you and try and match up the trees ;) The new location lies just off a fairly disused but well documented footpath running from Weedon to Bierton (Watermead lies in the centre) If your feeling adventurous try starting with our weedon road cache, then following the path to Wetlands 1,2 & 3 finishing up in Bierton at Sleeping Saints. |

After finding the Cache have a walk around the lake and check out the watermead Inn for a drink or something to eat. Oh and by the way, i can see the cache site from my house so i may just be watching you ;)
