Bauble #4 - Tombstone Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Jimmy B: I am putting this one away because of the visibility of others seeing searchers and apparent damage that can and has been causes of maintenance crews. This cache design will find life in another nearby location.

Geocache Description:

The location is an abandoned cemetery next to a former bank. The area has mostly mild slopes with elevation changes of not more than 10-feet. The best place to park is in the parking spaces near the drive throughs.

I checked with the bank about ownership of the cemetery and they suggested I contact the Cherokee Historical Society. The Cherokee Historical Society told me that they are not responsible for these types of cemeteries but they try awfully hard to get Scout troops and Historical Society members involved in keeping them decent. They told me that the cemetery is named "Bentley-Cross" cemetery after the families buried there. An article came out in the Cherokee-Ledger on November 30, 2004 about what can be done to help preserve abandoned cemeteries.

The cache is a two-stage type. The above coordinates (NOT WITHIN THE CEMETERY) is marked with an initial green ribbon that fade to pink in the sun, from that point the starting "line" begins. Simply follow the line to the cache.

Will you be like the Earps and walk away with a logged find or will be like the Morgans and leave your find in the cemetery?
