Geocache Description:

In the open space between Jewel Lake and Sundi Lake lies wetlands, basically unchanged by city growth. Use care accessing this cache to leave no trace of your passage - especially during the summer months when this area is a breeding ground for all sorts of flying life forms... Parking can be found at Jewel Lake Park - N61º 08.462 W149º 57.624 - keep dogs on leash in the winter, and leave them home in the summer.

A standard small 30-caliber ammo can is nesting in the wetlands... with an incredible view of mountains to the east and south. Summertime will be a delight for birdwatchers here - if they're equipped with headnets! The depth of winter brings out hockey players and ice fishermen on the nearby lakes, and much of the wildlife migrates to warmer climes. Beware of moose year-round, and wear footwear appropriate to the season.
