"Six more weeks of Winter!"

According to Punxsutawney Phil that's what were in for because he saw his shadow today. Winter or not this is a really nice hike along the Westridge fire road that straddles the ridgeline between Sullivan and Mandeville Canyons.

From the north the fire road starts at the old Nike Base (GC10BYG). From the south the fire road starts at the end of Westridge road. The path is a favorite with mountain bikers so keep your eyes and ears open for them. Sometime they ride a bit fast through the area.

There are restrooms and drinking water at the Nike Base, but be sure to bring water with you. Also bring a camera or binoculars because on clear days you will be afforded spectacular views of downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica Bay, and Westwood.

The sun had only been in the sky for about ten or fifteen minutes when my Belgian Malinois Pepper and I arrived at this cache and just before turning onto the side trail, a very large group of runners (30 or more) passed by us coming from the other direction. It must have been a running club or a team (they weren't joggers). Great view from the cache; I could see Ladyface to the west and Palos Verdes to the east.
Thanks John. Happy caching!
PS - As Don mentioned in his log, there is no TB in the cache; perhaps it should be marked, "missing".

Found this one by accident, while exploring a game trail. No pen/pencil in the box so bring one to log your visit.
