Kingsland Overlook Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

ThirstyMick: The cedar tree it was attached to is still there, but the bison tube is gone.

I'm archiving this one because my feelings on bison tubes have changed over the years, maybe I'll get something else out along this trail in the spring, it is a worthwhile spot to visit, and different from the rest of the park. Thanks to everyone who found it while it lasted.

Geocache Description:

This one will take you on a nice stroll on a less visited trail in DeKorte Park.

You'll first need to go to the posted coordinates and gather some information. You're journey begins at a gazebo in the marshes, you're looking at the carvings along the banisters, these carvings depict the various food chains in the meadowlands.

How many striped Bass are there? A
The number of times switchgrass appears, cubed? B
Multiply the number of Field Crickets by the number of Blue Crabs. C

How many nests are there? D
How many (individual) magnifying glasses are there? E
The number of snakes cubed, minus 1? F

The final is located at 40 47.ABC 74 06.DEF
It's a bison tube, please do not detach it, unscrew the lid to log your find! Thanks!

There is a trail, which you can reach via a staircase, please take it. Do not bushwack to this cache, the cache is best approached from the trail! I ask that you respect the natural beauty of the park, and if you cannot easily locate the cache, please read the clue for an explicit hint, rather than tearing things apart.

When logging your find please tell me what birds you saw during your visit.

DeKorte is a fantastic park nestled in the industrialized meadowlands. An oasis for birds and humans, the park is bordered by offices and the NJ Turnpike, but feels miles away.

There is a guard at the entrance (there are offices in the park as well), but entry to the park is free. Just tell the guard you're there to visit the park.
