Geocache Description:

This is a location where books show it was used many years ago as a fire lookout.

The elevation of Goman Peak is 3499 feet. When we placed this cache, there was no snow.

This can be accessed by a couple of different ways. May want to check FS map for road numbers. For those that don't have high clearance vehicles, you can park at
N47 46.942; W120 15.519. If you hike from here, it is approximately 1 mile with 300 feet elevation gain.

This was shown on a 1937 FS map as being a fire lookout. It may have been just a camp that was established in the 1930's and abandoned in 1940's. There doesn't seem to be any remains left of the lookout.

This gives you great views of the Columbia river and surrounding forest areas.
