This is an homage to one of
my favorite rides "The Twisty Tour" entering it's 6th
year.
Every summer I assemble the willing: 10-20 of my friends,
co-workers and members of my motorcycle club to meet at Turkey Hill
in Gibraltar. I guide them on a spirited afternoon ride along some
of my favorite twisties from the woodlands of western Berks thru
the farmlands of eastern Lancaster. Over 100 turns in 90 minutes,
50 miles, 12 towns, and 5 covered bridges in two counties! We lean
‘em in to the turns and watch the sparks fly. Our final
destination is always the Oregon Dairy (on Rt. 272 NE of Lancaster)
for their delicious hand dipped ice cream.
This stretch of road (Rt
568 near Rt 10) is on the first leg of the ride and is one of my
favorite roads in the area to ride the Killer Bee. I've hidden a
home-made micro along this route in my typical fashion for your
pleasure. Come and get it!
