Geocache Description:

This cache is an easy park & grab Stealth required.

When a small group of Marion citizens came up with the idea for a community-wide festival in 1992, they probably never imagined just how much success they would have. That idea resulted in the creation of what would become the Esperanza Bonanza Festival. That first festival in May 1993 was the blueprint of success for all the future festivals held over the past 11 years, just smaller. While many changes have taken place over the years, the basic ideas have stayed the same: play music and games, have good food and a barbecue competition and have fun. The crowds have grown from the low thousands to as many as 15,000 over the three-day festival. Some events have gone by the wayside, such as crawfish bobbing, while other great events have been added, like the bull riding and bronc busting rodeo that are part of this year's festival.
