Since our unposted "non-event" was such a success last year, we
have decided to turn this into an official event this year.
Geocaching seems to come to a virtual stand-still during the long
Wisconsin winter. What better way to combat cabin fever than with a
Geocaching event?
Last year, local cachers placed more than twenty new permanent
caches all over the Wausau area. This year there will be more
permanent caches. I know that some were placed before the snow, so
they should be well hidden. All of the caches will be Winter
friendly and accesssible.
The plan:
11:00 AM - Meet at Day's Bowl-A-Dome for signing in, socializing,
downloading cache info, hot coffee or hot cocoa or anything else
offered at Day's. Attendees are welcome to sign in any time during
the day, so it's not necessary to be there right at 11:00.
After signing in, you are free to cache as much or as little as
you like. While you're not caching, you can hang around and chat
with other cachers, show off or trade geocoins or bowl a few games
if you like. There will also be a couple of fun contests and games
off and on during the day.
3:30 PM - Assemble for the event photo. Please try to be back at
Day's by that time. Immediately after the photo will be the raffle
drawing. Prizes will include a couple of unactivated geocoins, some
pre-made caches and (???).
Take this as an opportunity to meet other cachers for a fun day
of socalizing, great food and drinks and maybe some winter
caching.
Everyone is welcome to stick around as long as you like after the
event is over.
Day's has a great menu availble
