STUIFZANDDUINEN OF LANDDUINEN

Iedereen kent wel de duinen aan de kust, maar er bestaan ook landduinen.

Deze werden gevormd tijdens het Pleistoceen, 10000 tot 18000 jaren geleden.
Toen was het bekken nog een uitgestrekte droge zandvlakte.
De krachtige winden voerden massa's stuifzanden mee, die afgezet werden in de streek die nu Zandig-Binnen-Vlaanderen genoemd wordt en die zich uitstrekt van Brugge tot in de Antwerpse Kempen.
De Wildertse duintjes bevindt zich op één van deze zandruggen.

Om deze Earthcache te loggen, doe je het volgende:
Beantwoord de volgende vragen (maak gebruik van het Internet) en e-mail deze naar mij.

1. Welk bekken was een uitgestrekte droge zandvlakte?
2. Uit welke richting kwam de wind?
3. Wat was aanleiding van deze zandverstuivingen?

Maak een foto van jezelf of teamlid met een GPS in de hand voor het bord en plaats het bij je log.

Everyone knows the dunes to the coast, but there exists also country dunes.

These were formed during the Pleistocene, 10000 up to 18000 years ago.
When the basin was still an extended dry sandy plain. Powerful winds conducted masses drifting sand, which covered a big part of the region we now call  Zandig-Binnen-Vlaanderen and which extend themselves of Bruuge to in the Antwerp Kempen. The Wildertse duintjes are themselves on one of these dunes.

To log this earthcache you have to do the following:
Answer the questions and e-mail them to me.


1. Wich bassin was still an extended dry sandy plain?
2. Name me the direction of the wind.
3. What was the reason that cause these drifting sand?

Add a picture of yourself or your team-mate with your handheld GPS in front of the sign with your log.

LOGS WITH A FALSE PICTURE, OR LOGS OF PEOPLE WHO GAVE THE WRONG OR INCOMPLETE ANSWERS WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT ANY NOTICE!
