Hometown History Revisited Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Mr. 0: I decided to can this one. Between the final cache walking away several times, and parts of the various stops disappearing, I think it's time to give the cache a rest once and for all.

I am however going to "move" this tour over to the Waymarking.com site, so if you're interested in taking the tour, it'll be there. You won't get a smiley here, but that's not the point of this tour anyhow.

I'll post another note, with a link, here once I've moved it over and it has been approved.

I did pick up the TB that was in there, and will move it along shortly.

Geocache Description:

This is a multi-cache with 4 virtual stops before the final cache. Driving is almost required from stop to stop as it's about 10 miles round trip. Along the way you will learn about the great history of this small town.

After much complaining *cough**cough**Bjorn74**cough* that I archived the original ( Found here ) in the first place, I've decided to set this back up. Originally placed in June of 2003, it was the same experience incorporating a "podcast" style tour, but before podcasting was popular. This one is almost the same as the previous Hometown History cache, minus one virtual stop, and the final cache is in a different location at the same park. So with all of that said, if you've found the original one, feel free to find this one as well, since it's a new cache page.

In order to get the full history lesson, you will need to find one of the cd's I've put out there, or send me an e-mail and I can send a txt copy of what's on the CD. If you listen to this information in your vehicle as you travel from stop to stop it will explain the significance of the locations. Some of the stops will be obvious...others, not so much. For the second location and the final location, I've included parking coordinates that may prove useful.

The final location is a park and is open 6am to Midnight 7 days a week and during all seasons. Also since it sometimes is tricky to see, the trailhead is behind the 5th hole on the disc golf course.

It may have been possible to place a cache at each of the virtual locations, however it would have been either illegal, tacky, or both. Plus I didn't want to over saturate the area with caches.

A .PDF file is attached for your worksheet. The coordinates provided take you to the first stop on the tour. The hint below is for the final cache location. It pretty much spells it out. I wanted to make sure it was very well hidden from the muggles, so it IS difficult to see. But at the same time you've done a lot of work and I don't want you to go away with a no find. Please cover it back up well.

Also a word of caution...Marion has many one way streets, you can easily get to where you're going, but you may not be able to take what looks like the most direct route. Just make sure to watch the road signs, and try not to get too turned around.

The "worksheet" can be found here in .PDF format.
