En stig. En backe. En avgrund!
En av många backar i det bergiga Änggårdsbergen och en som många har sprungit uppför - kämpat, flåsat, stapplat uppför, kramp och blodsmak och vrängda lungor. En jättelång, jättebrant jättebacke.
Men betänk då Åre Extreme Challenge. En multisporttävling där mellersta löpsträckan går från Åre torg till Åreskutans topp som är 1020 meter högre upp och sedan ned på baksidan till Huså, vilket gör att man springer i ungefär 13% lutning...i åtta km!
Man måste ju jämföra... Den här lille backen är ju egentligen knappt märkbar ens med lupp!
Vid sidan av stigens backe utkämpas en annan kamp - mellan stenriket och växtriket. Den onda stenen pressar på för att tränga ner trädet i avgrunden.
Eller är det kanske ett hjälteträd som i sin spirande ungdom kämpar för att förhindra den massiva stenen att störta utför branten mot en säker död...?

A path. A slope. An abyss!
One of the many slopes in the hilly Änggårdsbergen and one that many has fought, running up, panting, struggling, strains and cramps and a taste of blood. A really long, really steep monster of a slope!
But then be reminded of Åre Extreme Challenge. A multisport challlenge where the middle running stretch goes from the middle of Åre up to the crest of Åreskutan which is 1020 m higher up, and then down again on the other side, which means running with a gradient of 13 percent... for eight km!
So one has to compare... this little bump is hardly noticeable at all.
By the side of the slope another struggle is fought - the World of Rock versus the fighting Green Growth. The evil rock is pushing the poor innocent tree into the abyss.
Or perhaps it's the tree hero that is struggling to stop the massive rock from plummeting down into the abyss and a certain death...?
