Geocache Description:

Located near Moun10Bike's old Rattlesnake Ridge cache.

THIS CACHE IS LOCATED ON TOP OF RATTLESNAKE RIDGE. WHILE IT DOES NOT REQUIRE SPECIAL EQUIPMENT TO RETRIEVE, IT IS LOCATED WITHIN 20 FEET OF VERY HIGH CLIFFS. NOT APPROPRIATE FOR SMALL CHILDREN OR NIGHT CACHING.

That said, I feel the difficultly in this cache is all in the physical exertion to reach it. Please take the following detailed directions and spoiler pictures and I would recommend watching the spoiler movie before you go to ensure success.

Directions:
Take I-90 east to exit 32 (436th St.). Go south (right) on 436th Street (Cedar Falls Road). The trailhead is right before the park for Rattlesnake lake. Follow the signs to the trailhead and start going up.

From the popular viewpoint, you can see a series of outcroppings to the west. The cache is located on the second outcropping. To get there, take the less-traveled trail that forms a "Y" with the main trail and the trail to the popular viewpoint. Head toward N 47 26.230 W 121 46.817. This is the location of Moun10Bike's old Rattlesnake Ridge cache and a good viewpoint of our cache (located on the next outcropping to the west) as well as just a good viewpoint period. Back on the trail, head up until you come to a small open area in the trees with a rotting stump to your right (see pictures 1 and 2). The trail that goes to the outcropping wraps around the stump. It's a small, well hidden trail, we missed it when heading up the trail and didn't see it until coming back. Out on the rock, locate the small stump and head up the high trail (see photo 3). About ten feet up the trail from the stump, about 46 steps off the trail (away from the cliff) on your left is a fir tree (see photo 4). The cache is under the tree branches (west of it's trunk) in the salal about. I posted a website at geocities with a short video spoiler.
