Slimy's Home Traditional Cache
The Blorenges: Sadly, Slimy has gone. He had a good life, he's lived at this spot since 2008 which is good for a fancy snail. We've decided to archive rather than replace as he's slimed his course. Maybe "Son of Slimy" will appear one day. Thanks to all who came to find him.

A short walk to an interesting stretch of the river bank to get a smiley from Slimy.

Many of you will have come across Slimy before when seeking our original cache in this area called Slimy Trail, which we recently archived. We decided to leave Slimy in place with his traditonal micro because this area is so appropriate for his home.
The approach may be wet underfoot…that’s how Slimy likes it. He has a home with a view over the River Severn to the Old Severn Bridge and Oldbury power station. The easiest/driest approach to visit Slimy is along the river bank from the north. If you park at N51°37.942 W2°39.287 walk north a short distance along the road, then you can follow the Offa's Dyke footpath to our other cache "Offa to a good Start" and from there head south along the river bank to see Slimy. Alternatively, park at N 51° 37.598 W 002° 39.146 and access the river bank from the footpath there, but beware, this approach from the south is often MUCH slimier!
This channel of the Severn, along the west bank, is called the Slime Road. In the summer, there are butterflies and dragonflies along this stretch of the walk, also blackberries, sloes and elderberries in season. You can find interesting fossils in some of the fallen rocks too.
