Goldilocks and the three...oops..TWO Bears Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Zebra Girl: This is indeed a nice walking trail, but with one whole side being blocked by posted signs and the other side being swampy, it was difficult to find decent hiding spots. I will open up this trail to any other hiders who might be able to do a better job. Good luck, hope someone makes good use of this rail trail.

Geocache Description:

A flat, easy walk along the Alburg Recreational Rail Trail. This trail was honored as The Most Improved trail in 2008. (Not sure who voted or awarded that honor.) The posted coords lead you to Mama Bear (Stage 1). I have also included parking coords and trailhead, though I don't think you will need them.

This cache was originally set up as three intermediate stages (Baby Bear, Mama Bear, and Papa Bear) and a final (Goldilocks). However the original 1st stage (Baby Bear) decided to hang out with a stage of another cache and was too close to that stage. I looked for a place to move Baby Bear, but came up empty -handed.

So, now, let the TWO bears lead you to Goldilocks, a regular sized Lock 'N Lock FILLED with good swag and 4 TB's/coins. The entire walk is less than a mile one way. Will be a little over 1.6 miles round trip.

All stages are on the left side of the trail (opposite side from the "posted" signs). All stages are less than 20 feet off trail to protect the natural area.

Possible hazards include: Stage 1 (Mama Bear) is across a very small stream, but the first time I was here there was no water, 2nd time I was here there was. I placed some logs across the water to make it easier to cross. No stages are winter friendly if we get more than a foot of snow. The final, however, should be OK in winter unless it gets iced in--don't you love caching in VT in winter? I DO!
