Geocache Description:

The fun side of the River but not so pretty. The ferry crosses the river but you may not need to Pay the Ferryman.

Historically there has been a ferry running between Yoker and Renfrew for about 500 years. Actually nowadays there are 2 ferries the Yoker Swan and the Renfrew Rose. I remember it when I was a kid when the cars could travel on them but alas restricted to passengers nowadays. The other side is literally a stone’s throw. Please don’t throw any as you could hurt the families of swans and ducks which hang out there. Distance across about 200m and if you cross to Renfrew you are in easy walking distance of Braehead and the climbing centre if you cross to Yoker it’s a short distance to Clydebank shopping center, St Margarets hospice etc.. Now why do I say Don’t Pay The Ferryman, well if it’s late or there is bad weather you don’t need to take the ferry across to get this ones partner but for the very short time it takes to cross and the low fares go on get on the ferry for old times sake but if you do better that you actually do pay the ferryman.
