Le Grand Héron Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: Greetings from Geocaching.com
I have had no contact with the cache owner since my last note and there has been no notes posted to the cache page in that time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.
When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link (Mine) across the top and then click on this cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Cache-tech

Geocache Description:

Cache located in a municipal park by the St-Lawrence River in Boucherville, Qc

Attention à l’automne, plusieurs chasseurs sont à l’œuvre car on y retrouve canards, bernaches canadiennes et même de grands hérons (visit link) !This is an easy cache located in the marsh of Boucherville. The park was given a beauty lift not long ago and is really interesting. There is parking available at the park entry at N 45 38.810 W 073 26.560 Pic-nic tables are available in front of the parking, on the other side of the parking lot. Bring in your lunch. Only thing missing are restrooms! Or, I suggest you park in the Old Boucherville and follow the bicycle path toward Varennes until you reach the park. This is an enjoyable and easy ride. Just before the park, on the river side, you will see many beautiful houses, many of which belongs to Quebec cultural and sport personalities. After finding the cache, a Tupperware type container (be careful as there are many people visiting), keep going on the path to the electric pylons crossing the river. You can also bring in camping chairs, fishing gear, etc. You will be able to check on the boats, large and small, on the St-Lawrence River.Paths are easy on wheel chairs, strollers, bicycles, etc. Dogs must be kept on leash. The cache is located near one of the main paths, so beware! Be mindfull during the fall as many hunters are there for the ducks and geese. You can even spot the Grand Héron (visit link) (sorry, I don’t know the english name…)
