Geocache Description:

This cache marks parking and trail's end for the newly completed Candelabra Redwood Trail in Butano State Park. Note that it is offset from the trailhead, see full description and extra waypoint.

The trail is now open to the Gazos Creek Road, where this cache is placed. There are no official signs as yet, but since geocachers helped build the trail, it's only right that we have first crack at hiking it - and this cache will help you find the right spot.

From the lower trailhead, the Candelabra trail climbs in about 3/4 mile to the namesake Candelabra tree, and in about the same distance further joins the Olmo Fire Road, which gives access to a well-known 'power trail' of caches around the upper part of Butano Park.

The cache is somewhat offset, a few yards from the best parking in the area (since it also seems to be used for drinking parties.) From the parking and cache location, walk eastward along Gazos Creek Road to access the trailhead at the waypoint given. The cache is a camo-painted small plastic jar.

Difficulty here is for bad signal conditions and poor fix. The hint is quite explicit. If you get solid coords, please log them so we can get a better average over time.
