Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden in the area of the old Ängås house. The house was built 1752.
New houses are planned to be built in the area so take the oppertunity to see the area in its current status.

The cache is consisting of a glass jar. The cache contained at the time of the hiding: one yellow and one blue ballon, two key chains, a small lion, a homemade pearl lizard, an orange marble.

Grundaren av Västra Frölunda hembygdsförening, framlidne folkskolläraren Gustav Eriksson, skriver om det gamla häradsskrivarbostället Ängås:
"Före år 1694 utgjorde det ett helt mantal frälse, som Gustav Vasa år 1557 förlänade till ståthållaren på Älvsborgs slott, Gustav Olsson Stenbock. År 1626 lydde gården under Gustav Eriksson Stenbock och 1673 under dennes sonson Johan Gabriel Stenbock från vilken Ängås indrogs till Kronan genom Karl XI:s reduktion år 1692."
Från början av 1700-talet fram till 1860-talet var Ängås boställe för en lång rad häradsskrivare. Den äldsta boställebyggnaden utdömdes redan 1735. År 1752 beslöts om nybyggnad och delar av den nuvarande gården, bl a köket, är från den tiden.
Ängås gård, som är belägen vid Näsetvägen vid uppfarten till Korsåsen, är numera kulturminnesskyddad. Gården kom i Göteborgs stads ägo 1962 och disponeras numera av hemvärnet.
