The road is paved (although not all well maintained) all the way to the cache. I gave the terrain a 2.5 since it is not a well maintained road, my Nissan Maxima had no problems but take it slow, there are
pedestrians and people on horseback in the area.
The cache is not far from the road but the hill to the cache is kind of steep.
WARNING: As always keep an eye
out for the wild critters. I was going to place the cache in a pile of large
rocks. When I hopped up on them I was greeted by my first GEO-Rattler. I placed
the cache about 30' away to be safe.
Take Sand Canyon to Little Tujunga Road and
turn Right (West) on Bear Divide. Follow the road about 2 miles until you pass a
Fire Station on the top of the hill. Veer right on 3N17. The road narrows,
follow it for about 3/4 of a mile and park where you see a dirt road to the
right. GO to the top for one of the best views of Santa Clarita.
A National
Forest Adventure Pass is required to park in this area.
