This cache will take you 18 miles into the woods on the gravel
Middle Fork Road. It will take you past some wonderful fishing and
camping spots. I'll let you decide if the cache title describes the
fishing spots, or the road.
The fishing is catch and release only, but the water is so clear
that you should be able to see them comming. The road can become
temporarily impassable at times due to downed trees and washouts.
Be careful not to get stuck in the
monster potholes. The cache is a 50 caliber ammo can. Happy
hunting!
Driving Directions:
Take I-90 to exit 34 and head north on 468th Ave SE.
Turn right (east) on SE Middle Fork Road.
At Lake Dorothy road you can take either road (they merge back
together later)
The pavements ends and NF-56 begins
After crossing the river turn right around N47 33.300 W121

Stay on the main road
The cache was just before a washout that had blocked the road, I
hear it's now been cleared.
About the “Drive In The Woods” cache series:
I like to take long drives in the woods and did it a lot before
caching prompted me to start hiking. But hiking is not for everyone
so this series is intended to get you into the woods without
needing a backpack. Most cars can drive forest service roads just
fine, but high clearance, and 4-wheel drive, are a plus for the
type of roads that I like. But I don’t really know how to rate the
terrain, they are not physically demanding, but do require some
driving skill.
