Geocache Description:

Too late, we realized this is NOT a Slippery Elm. Oh well. Camo'd nut jar just off a new section of the Schuylkill River Trail near Cromby Generating Station. More caches to come on this new section of the trail.

This is a new section of the trail in Chester County near Cromby generating station. Cromby Generating station came on line during 1954-55. The coal-fired unit was shut down May 31, 2011. The natural gas or fuel oil #6 unit is scheduled to go off line by the end of 2011. This new section of trail provides good views of this old electric generating station. Parking nearby at the new Cromby Trail Head. This and other nearby caches (to come) are being placed as part of a series of caches along the Schuylkill River Trail to encourage trail use, apprecation and enjoyment of the Schuylkill River National and State Heritage Area.
This cache was placed with the permission of Chester County Parks & Recreation Department. All caches must have the permission of Chester County Parks and Recreation Department. Please follow all Chester County Parks and Recreation Rule and Regulations. Parks are open year-round, 8 am to sunset. Dogs are permitted on a 6' leash.
