Marsh Miles Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Geocachers of the Bay Area
Baylands, open 8AM to sunset every day. Please observe posted hours. Just a few feet off trail, looking inland towards Palo Alto across more than a mile of mixed marshland

We are lucky to have had time to get to know the trails around the preserve and to recognize some of the plants and birds which live here. In different seasons, in differing weather, it's always interesting. However, the view across the broad marsh here can be a little daunting. You might sympathize with those developers who felt the marsh was good for nothing unless drained and paved. Turn around: directly behind you is a dramatic view across the open water to the East Bay hills. Does that seem more worthwhile to you?

Cache is a small lock'n'lock, just out of sight. I weeded away the nearest thistles when I placed the cache (they're not native and not a protected species). The snake in the cache is a pen, please do not take it for a trade item unless you leave a pen or pencil.
