A short hike through the Amethyst Brook Conservation Area.
Park on Pelham Road (in small lot marked for the Amethyst Brook Conservation Area). There is a stream to cross--take the narrow plank bridge, or ford the stream, or take a long leap, or wait for ice to form and skate over. The hike is flat until it's time to actually find the cache. Then, you must elevate. The cache ("Amethyst") is named not only for the area, but for what is in the cache. No, not amethysts--but everything in the cache shares a quality with amethysts. (And it's not that pronouncing each item in the cache makes it sound as if you have a lisp.)
The cache is a lock-and-lock box, crudely taped with non-camouflage tape.
