Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of caches placed by New Mexico Geocachers in a cooperative effort with New Mexico State Parks (NMSP) to celebrate New Mexico State Parks 75th Anniversary. A cache has been placed in each of the 34 state parks around New Mexico.

A peaceful oasis along the Rio Grande Bosque in Albuquerque, the park includes interpretive nature trails, educational programs, demonstration gardens and numerous exhibits. Wildlife abounds in the park, especially in wintertime when migrating waterfowl arrive.

Be sure to check the following points of interest while you are there.

* The Bosque Loop Trail. A winding trail that takes the visitor thru the Bosque Forest and along side the Rio Grande River.

* The Observation room in the visitor center. This glass walled room sits over a pond where you can watch wildlife. A microphone under a nearby bird feeder records the live sounds happening around the pond.

* The Candelaria Wetland Blind which overlooks a beautiful wetland. There is a great ceramic tile installation on the wetland done by Margy Obrien.

Since this cache is located within the State Park system, a Day Use or Annual Pass, which can be obtained from any State Park, will be required.

If you see any of the Park's staff while you are there, be sure to let them know you are a Geocacher.

When you log your visit, post a picture of yourself or GPS unit taken in the vicinity of the cache.

Placed with permission.
