The Cache is placed in a remote area of New Mexico on private property (Point of Rocks Ranch). This site is one of the true gems along the Santa Fe National Historic Trail. There are numerous archaeological resources here to be seen including miles of pristine ruts of the Santa Fe Trail, 1800's era graves along the Santa Fe Trail, and native American tipi rings and rock shelters. From the cache site look southwest to see several branches of the Santa Fe Trail coverging in the distance. The mesa is a rather unusual ingneous rock formation that looks like a syenite.
