Landmark curve known as "Horseshoe Bend" along the historic Old Ridge Route.

A short walk will take you to the cache and give you a better view of Horseshoe Bend. You can see the horseshoe effect of this curve in old photos of the Ridge Route. Imagine what it must have been like to travel along this road back in the day.

Cache Logs

November 7 by Photom (7332 found) Neat area - and well traveled today. We didn't run into any geocachers but found loads of hunters and one ranger. [view this log]

November 7 by jpd43 (5714 found) So here we started running into hunters, lots of hunter! All dressed in Camo, all carrying rifles. We asked what they were hunting and they told us bear. I may have misunderstood because this doesn't seem like bear country unless it wandered in by accident. Maybe they said deer. I don't know, but I was really glad to also see a Ranger or Game Warden with badge and rifle also in the area. Found the cache and moved on. [view this log]
