January, 2012 Iowa City, Iowa, the United States' first UNESCO City of Literature, is already hard at work promoting Little Free Libraries. Working with public libraries, bookstores, city government, schools, publishers arts and neighborhood groups, Jeanette Pilak of the City of Literature program is also sharing ideas with her peers in Dublin, Edinburgh, Reykjavik and Melbourne. She projects a citywide network will eventually be developed first in Iowa City.. Stories about Iowa City's collaboration with Little Free Library have appeared in international newsletters and newspapers across the U.S.
