How Geocaching Works
Alton Schoolhouse, located at Forest Park Museum, is the last one-room school house of Dallas County. It opened in 1867 and closed in 1961. It was originally located one mile west of Perry and was moved to Forest Park Museum in 1964.
The museum also includes Hastie Building, Grabenhorst log cabin, Bill Wagner Scale House, and Baldwin Hall, all which include many historical artifacts of Dallas County.
The museum will also be a future trailhead of the Raccoon River Valley Trail, which will connect Perry to Waukee and Dallas Center through Herndon, Jamaica, Dawson, and Minburn.
