Steep hills, bring a walking stick.
This Cache is not on VA Property as the Maps show.
Using VA Property to Bushwack may get you a introduction to the VA Police. Besides, VA has a big fence.
Very Often, as you walk the wilds of Iowa, you come across dry wells (sometimes called cisterns). Some are capped and some are not.
In fact, I found an uncapped one quite abruptly, one night, while chasing a shoplifter through the woods. At a full run, my right foot went right in and I went down hard. Of course, the perp got away. When dispatch radioed me and asked if I was still in pursuit I reply'ed...quite honestly for all to hear: "No, I fell in a damn well!!!:
Anyway, the major feature very near this cache is one of those wells, thus the name of this cache. BTW, this is the biggest well of this type I have ever encountered.
Terrain difficulty is marked 4 because there is no trail and it is quite steep so bring a walking stick.
One intresting bit of trivia: the cache site is within sight distance of the geographic highest point within the city of des moines.
This cache was placed on 15 December 2004 and contains:
A FTF Prize
(2) Music CD's
A belt buckle "Iowa Themed"
A handheld calculator
A Des Moines Police Patch
And of course a Log Book, pen & pencil
This is my first cache, so have fun.
