Geocache Description:

This is letter "Z" in Mwein's Vermont Vocaulary Virus.

Might not be a terrain rating of "3" in spring and summer. Nice walk in pretty woods. Enter at trailhead for Cougar Trail.

Gather ‘round cachers , here is a story my grandpappy Zebulon “Zeke” Zorson used to tell me when I was just knee high to a zebra. I know it’s true, every word.

One fine day in Zaire, a group of zodiac-loving, zany, zebras decided to check out their horoscopes. Lo and behold, they were thrilled to discover it was a zesty day for travel. So, they loaded up their zucchini bread and their Zinfandel and off they zoomed. Oh, the good time they had! They listened to zydeco music as they went, zipping and zagging along.

By and by, a group of their cousin Zebras from Zimbabwe came along. Their city cousins were wearing zoot suits and playing zithers.

So, with great zeal and enthusiasm, the two groups joined tails and paraded through a series of zip codes.

As fate would have it, they began to get thirsty just as they approached a lovely meadow filled with zinnias. The two groups settled down to drink the zinfandel, eat the zucchini bread, and nibble on the zinnias. It was a fine day with a warm zephyr wind at their back. The sun was at its zenith, so they all decided to put zinc oxide on themselves. After all, who wants to be black and white and red all over?

To their surprise, over the knoll appeared a group of Zamboni- driving zebras all the way from Zurich bearing zwieback bread. Well, the three groups were so glad to see each other! They romped and pranced, and zigged and zagged. They dined, drank and danced to Zydeco and ZZ Top music.

A great time of reveling and feasting was had by all. Just then, a zeppelin floated overhead, it was staffed by zoologists whose job it was to keep a defense zone around these zany zebras to keep them out of the zoo. The zebras waved and wagged their tails in appreciation.

Then, from just beyond the zimzim trees, there came a low growl. Before they knew it a large group of zebra-eating zombies were upon them! It was those ooky kind of zombies, you know the kind.

The zillions of zany zebras zoomed away. They zipped into a nearby forest and saw a sign that said “Cougar Trail”. They entered the trail and ran and ran.

By and by, they came across a briar patch with Br'er Rabbit stuck in it—oh wait, that’s another story--- no, these lucky zebras found a plastic lock and lock box hidden in just the right place. One by one, they scampered inside and locked the door behind them. They lived happily there in a zen-like state for many years to come.

I hear that if you go to the above posted coordinates you might find some of their ancestors there today!. Have fun hunting, take a zebra if you find one. If you are lucky you can hear the hoof beats of the zebras that are still out there zooming in the woods….but watch out for those zombies!

If you didn't check out Timmy the Tiny Timid Tiger's cache on the way in, be sure to visit him on the way out. Timmy would be thrilled to see you.
