A group of people gathered in a meeting hall on a frosty winter night, ate hot dogs and talked about what they might be able to do together to help build up their neighborhood.
That was the beginning of what became the North End Partnership, a neighborhood association that has sponsored an annual cleanup for the past six years, spearheaded a renovation of the Gooch Playground, served as the central collection point for donations to help solve a sewer problem on North Delaware Avenue and has been instrumental in rehab projects throughout the north end.
