Cannonball Days...Better Luck in the next life! PART ONE of Maux Faux's Tour of Duty.

This mini cache is dedicated to all those from Whyalla who served in the major conflicts of the 20th century. The memorials here preserve the memory of their sacrifice.
When locating this cache, take the time to read the honour rolls and information board, as well as to admire the descendant of Gallipoli’s original Lone Pine.
You will also notice when reading the honour rolls, that many of Whyalla’s names come from those who fell.

The cache is a 200ml camo sistema clip top box, is well hidden and please ensure you return it to its well hidden spot after you have found it. The original contents include relevant commemorative Australian $1, 50c and 20c pieces, a couple of German Euro coins, an English 5p piece, a .303 shell casing, a small frog and a red humanity wristband. Please keep the theme of the swaps if you can and keep them small.

This is a fairly public place so some stealth may be required. Taking the kids along is a good cover ploy!

A Little bit hot, 43 degrees, did not stop us, a little put off with the clue, however a bit more time at it, and we located the cache, TNLN TFTHSL.

We have had some mixed results on these but a quiet Sunday morning is a good time to tackle them. Mr Morris located the hide although it didn't quite match what we were looking for. TFTC

A return visit in daylight found this much easier and was soon in hand
But I looked there last time? Not well enough perhaps?
Hints didn’t seem to help...
Nowhere near the “xxxx or xxxx”??
Cache creep perhaps???
Replaced where found

Why do I do these things to myself...
Pulled up and thought na just leave it till next time as I wasn’t in a good mood anyway
I’d just fuelled up and had got drenched in diesel because of a dodgy fuel pump...
Couldn’t find the previous 2 caches and then stupidly decided to try this one... In the dark. DOH!
Every time I turned the torch on, a car would drive past or a house across the road would have people outside and or coming and going...
In the positive I did know this was here due time spent in Whyalla many years ago regularly visiting rellies.
So was nice to return and I guess I will again for another look, and the “gun” wont rust now... diesel is a good rust proofer!
