A cache placed near The Buffalo Tower, the highest point in the Ozarks. The location is also very near the headwaters of the Buffalo River.
At 2560 feet the Buffalo Tower is on the highest point in the Ozarks. The Buffalo Triangulation Station Benchmark is nearby and the tower is still in use. You can get a Triple Play here by logging this Cache, the Tower and the Triangulation Station Benchmark. The Buffalo Tower and the Buffalo Triangulation Station are both logable at the Nearest Benchmarks link on this page. We entered the listed coordinates for the Triangulation Station and hit within 10 feet of the Station Benchmark. It is there at ground level in good condition. The property is owned by the Forestry Service.
To get to the Cache from the Red Star-Boxley Road, turn South at:35 52.275 093 29.645 and then turn East on the Tower road at:35 51.953 093 29.612.
The ammo box is loaded with assorted goodies.
