St Lawrence, St Lawrence

To avoid confusion the church is often referred to as St Lawrence, Newlands or St Lawrence on the Hill. The current church was built in 1877 on a high point overlooking the River Blackwater. Whilst architecturally it has little of note, its location offers some spectacular views over the Blackwater estuary and over to Tollesbury and Mersea.
The church has some political connections and three generations of the Wedgewood-Benn family, the Viscounts and Lord Stansgate, are buried under the chancel.
The coordinates are for the clues and a limited amount of parking space but please do not block the drive to the Hall farm.
