Lockdown Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

emmett: It is time to finish with archiving my caches. I don’t want them listed on GC.com any longer. Very nice site, but very terrible treatment of cache owners. When time allows, I hope to modify this and publish it as a new cache on another site some day.

Geocache Description:

"Lockdown" is a puzzle cache designed to appeal even to those, like me, who may be a bit puzzle challenged. Everything you need is provided. Finding the cache will simply require effective processing of the information hidden at each stage. You should definitely make sure to bring the cache page, a pen and paper.

This three stage tour will take you through a section of the Desert, a conservation area in Marlborough that abuts conservation land in Sudbury also.

Stages One and Two are within a few feet of the trail. Stage Three is about thirty feet in. The posted coordinates will get you to Stage One. GPS readings seem to be unreliable so make sure you use the above information along with the hints to refine your search. Since the Stage One and Two containers are very close to the trail, please be careful to leave them well hidden when you are done.

Information about the area along with a trail map can be found at (visit link)

There is a lot of nice hiking/biking to be had in these parts. If you have the time, go beyond this hunt and take a larger tour.

Three nearby caches can both be done easily while pursuing Lockdown. Links to each cache page are provided below:

Desert Supply Station (visit link)
Witches Cove Trail (visit link)
Tri-Town Junction (visit link)

One word of warning in case you decide to explore the area - the north/south pipeline trail that defines the Marlborough/Sudbury border is often under water and impassable just south of intersection "P," where the stream crosses the trail.

The puzzle:

The letters “a” thru “j” each have a single digit value. Each digit, 0 thru 9, has only one corresponding letter. To complete the hunt you'll need to determine the value of each letter using the information and tools provided below and at each stage.

Parking = N22.abc, W29.adb

g = 2f

e is less than f

h is less than I
