The garden : this park after an old Higashi-honganji temple branch temple and a new palace.
It was. There is mentioned elsewhere, that is, "New palace Oniwa" in the plan of the Shinshu sect Otani faction Nagoya branch temple (Higashi-betsuin) owning, and it is thought work garden along with an architectural group of the completion at Tempo. A plane type of this garden is left in the park of the restaurant in the under well, and it can be said the valuable one as a garden of the latter term of Edo period. Moreover, the region around Higashi-betsuin is Flwata ruins of a castle ground, and has filling in "Flwata old castle castle tower" according to "Higashi-honganji temple Jo" of the Owari showplace chart association (the end of shogunate), too.

This park closes a gate by night at time at 5:00 on the next morning from time at 22:00.

この公園は、旧東本願寺別院・新御殿の後庭が
あったところです。真宗大谷派名古屋別院（東別院）
所蔵の平面図には「新御殿御庭」という別記があり、
天保のころ落成の建築群に伴って作庭されたものと
考えられます。この庭の平面形が下茶屋公園によく
残されており、江戸時代後期の庭園として
貴重なものといえます。また、東別院周辺一帯は、
古渡城跡地でもあり、尾張名所図会（幕末）の
「東本願寺掛所」によれば、「古渡古城天守閣址」
という記入があります。

この公園は、夜間22:00時から翌朝5:00時は閉門しています。

September 16 by old55jd (19 found) I walked from the hotel near Kanayama station to Shimochaya Park early in the morning. I arrived there at fifteen past five, but the gate of the park was closed. A short time later, the gate was opened. I found it easily. But I was attacked by a flight of mosquito.The park was quiet and nice place. TFTC!
