This is a very small park/river access. Although it is part of the Inkpaduta Canoe Trail the river is very
difficult to get to here, except in cases of high water. Then the river should only be floated by highly
experienced canoers/kayakers. The following is the official description of the park. Should be a P&G.
Nelson Area contains 8.75 acres on the Little Sioux River east of Larrabee, Iowa on County Road C16.
Fishing and hunting are permitted. The riverbank drops off steeply, so canoe access is not recommended.
A boat ramp is provided 1.2 miles downstream at Martins Access. This area contains flood plain timber
ncluding maple, cottonwood and willow, as well as brushy uplands. It is a good spot for pheasants seeking
cover in winter.
