An area of early pioneering history, that’s easy to miss.
The hill behind the GZ long ago was a large mobile sandhill, which
has now self stabilised. The moving sands almost completely covered
this special place. It’s fortunate that it wasn’t lost
or forgotten forever under the sand. Surprising considering its
location close to a road and housing. I wonder why it didn’t
continue to be used? Luckily, its slowly being uncovered and
recently restoration has begun.
Once finding the cache (which should be easy!) spend some time
looking around and consider what our forbears and pioneers of this
area would have dealt with and gone through…
