In the late 80's, the Minnesota DNR constructed a paved multi-purpose recreational trail through the heart of downtown Lanesboro on what had formerly been the Milwaukee Railroad bed. The Root River State Trail meanders through scenic Southeastern Minnesota amid 300- foot bluffs and along the peaceful Root River. The trail system boasts over 60 miles of paved surfaces, much of them recently upgraded. No pass is required to use the trail, year round.
The cache is a large bison tube which meets the guidelines for MN DNR hardwood forests. Stealth may be needed at times since this trail is popular. BYOP. Be safe and have fun.
