Geocache Description:

Canines seem to play a part in finding caches. This short series celebrates some canines who probably never cached. Should be an easy find. One of these five caches will have an unactivated Wigoweb geocoin for the first finder. That handsome fellow shown below is Wigo Too, successor to Wigo who inspired wigoweb.

Canine Caches

What do you remember about some almost famous dogs? This series may bring back memories for some and offer new information for others.

????? was the Basset Hound from The Dukes of Hazzard TV series.

We will tell you some of the story here on the cache page and let you learn the rest by doing a web search or by finding the cache. ????? belonged to Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best), the bumbling sheriff of Hazzard County. He bought the dog from an ad in the Police Gazette magazine and affectionately called her "Velvet Ears." Supposedly a trained "attack dog," the sleepy-eyed pup very rarely moved except when Roscoe fed her doggy treats or while being jostled around in the back of a patrol car during bumpy pursuits of the Duke Boys. Besides Roscoe, the dog was very friendly with Cooter, a local auto mechanic. However, she barked at Boss Hogg.

If you don’t know the name of Roscoe's dog, you can read the answer when you find the cache. I looked at many pictures from the Duke archives. Lots of memories of a fun TV show.
