Längelmäen kunnan (nykyisin tältä osin Jämsän kaupunki) Eväjärven kylän asukkaat ovat talkoovoimin järjestäneet kullanhuuhdontakilpailun jo parinkymmenen vuoden ajan kesäkuun alussa. Kisaa on alan piireissä luonnehdittu Etelä-Suomen parhaaksi ja siihen osallistuu vuosittain sekä Suomen että muiden pohjoismaiden kärkikaartia. Myös aloittelijoille on omat sarjansa, joten kiinnostuneet voivat täällä testata taitonsa kullan vuolemiseen.Tämä kätkö esittelee kilpailupaikan. Kilpailuviikonloppuna (10.- 12.6.2011 ) ja sitä edeltävän viikon aikana ei kannata lähteä etsimään kätköä, koska silloin paikalla on paljon talkooväkeä valmistelemassa kilpailua. Itse kisa on toki kiva käydä katsomassa ja vaikka osallistuakin, jos siltä tuntuu.

People of village Eväjärvi in Längelmäki (nowadays part of the Jämsä City) have organized an annual gold washing competition for some 20 years in early June. The competition has been seen as the best one in southern Finland and there are annually the top names of Finland and Scandinavian countries. There is also class for beginners who want to test if gold washing would be they hobby or carrieer.This cache introduces the area of competition. During the competition weekend (10.- 12.6.2011 ) and the preceeding week it is impossible to seek the cache due to the amount of people around doing preparations for the competition. Of course you can also come and see or even join the competition.
