Geocache Description:

Welcome to the first "Kids Need Nature" CITO

DATE: Saturday, May 1, 2010
TIME: 1:00 - 4:00 pm (see below for detailed schedule)
WHERE: North Branch Nature Center (713 Elm St, Montpelier) directions

1:00 – 3:00 – Clean-up Time

We’ll spend the first portion of the day assisting with various spring cleaning activities. If you would like to make a special request for a clean-up task , please try to do so in advance. Some tasks are listed below and most are kid-friendly:
- Painting of the front door & railing/ramp
- Spruce up the Nature Center’s Kiosk
- Raking and repairing winter damage to lawns
- Invasive Species Removal
- Erecting 20X20 ft tent (we'll need 4-6 people)
- Removal of brush/invasives (truck required)

3:00 – 4:00 – Games & Prizes

After our good work session, we’ll have an opportunity to mix, mingle, and play some games. We’ll also hold a raffle for door prizes. If you would like to donate a door prize, that would be great. Just let me know the item you plan to bring. If there are enough people interested, it may also be possible to host an evening BBQ at the Center.

There will also be a brand new set of caches to be found, and we’ll even have one or two extra GPS units around so that families that are new to caching can test out the equipment and give caching a first try.

Please note that all dogs must remain on a leash. Sensitive grassland bird species nest at the Nature Center, and thus the leash rule will be enforced. Thanks for your cooperation.
