Lawton is Meowdoc’s home town. As such, we frequently visit and this has become one of my favorite Geocache stomping grounds. I found my first Geocache here (Fixitfox introduced me to the sport) and also placed my first cache here.
Fort Worth is Meowdoc and my current place of residence and it is also where you will need to find your teammate for this cache!
The stages:
- Stage 1 – Lawton, OK – Camo 35mm film canister located just on the edge of the tree line. You shouldn’t have to bushwhack to find this container. Inside you will find coordinates for stage 2 of this multi and a log book.
- Stage 2 – Fort Worth, TX – Camo 35mm film canister located near a slab of concrete. I had difficulty getting good readings here, so just check the two nearby slabs. Inside the container is a log book and coordinates for stage 3.
- Stage 3 – Lawton, OK – Camo 35mm film canister - also no bushwhacking here.
The rules:
- Enlist the help of a buddy in Fort Worth. You must locate someone who has not previously assisted in finding stage 2. There are probably more cachers in the Fort Worth area than in Lawton, so there shouldn’t be any trouble finding an unused resource :).
- The Fort Worth Geocacher (FWG) will find the second stage and report the coordinates to the Lawton Geocacher (LG).
- Once the LG logs the find on stage 3, both the FWG and LG may log this cache as a find for their cooperative efforts.
- The FWG must log their name into the log book at stage 2. This will be their proof of find. The LG will simply log their name into the book at stage 3 (and stage one if they wish, but it is not required).
- I cannot be used as a FWG…sorry ;)
- You are not allowed to make the trip between Lawton and Fort Worth yourself…that defeats the purpose of “Teamwork” :D. If you are having trouble locating a FWG, send me an email and I will send you a list of potential cachers.
- You are also not allowed to skip stage 2. This means you can't randomly hike around Lawton and try to find stage 3 (hey, I've seen people try stunts like that) or bribe a fellow LG for the coordinates ;).
